People
Anirban Bhattacharyya is a faculty at the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics (IRPE), and is also associated with the Center for Research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CRNN), University of Calcutta.
He graduated from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta with a B.Sc. in Physics. He has an M. Sc. in Electronics Science from the University of Calcutta, and M. Tech in Materials Science from IIT Kanpur.
His doctoral studies on MBE-grown UV emitters based on III-Nitride materials were carried out at Boston University under Professor Theodore D Moustakas. He received his Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering, with specialization in Electro Optics in 2005. He was a Research Associate at Boston University till 2009, when he joined his current position.
He played a crucial role in setting up of the extensive research infrastructure of the CRNN. He has also initiated the research and teaching of microelectromechanical systems at the IRPE.
Anirban Bhattacharyya received the MRSI Medal in 2016.
